waist sash lined in red Morocco leather and marked up to the Maker: "Hobson & Sons Ltd

and the clip on the other end is handmade from bent steel

From 1856 to 1865 it was known as Allen & Wheelock (Worcester)

The Eighth took full advantage of this break and "Big Week" was staged

Introduced at the end of WWI and in use up through WWII, this is a very nice U. S. Marine Corps Square Entrenching Machete, made by Disston and still with its original scabbard. These were intended to cut through brush as well as the ground to help secure a foothold during action. They were often used by landing forces to help quickly make a nice emplacement. The blade on this example is in very good condition, and
