An 8Th Battalion, "Royal Rifles" Helmet Plate, C.1877 Auction emboss stamped with the RZMIn die stamped patinated bronze, unmarked, measuring 78 mm (w) x 109. 5 mm (h), both lugs intact, contact marks evident on the "8", residue buildup overall in the recessed areas on the obverse, better than very fine. Footnote: The Royal Rifles of Canada originated in Quebec City, Canada East, on February 28, 1862, when The 8th Battalion, Volunteer Militia Rifles, Canada was authorized.
