chipping evident in the azure blue enamels on the tip of the arm at 12 o'clock on the obverse and in the white enamels on the reverse centrepiece

Germany, Third Reich. A Postwar Allied Occupation Police Armband consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac marked "1/20-10K G(Polizei Armband). Constructed of white cotton, the exterior bearing a black dyed inscription of M. G. M. R. and POLICE POLIZEI, unmarked, measuring 19 cm (w) x 11. 5 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface, with minor soiling evident, a classic example of an identifying insignia worn by police personnel in immediate postwar Allied occupied Germany c. 1945 1946, in extremely fine condition.
