Well this is something that we have only had once before! Most are familiar with the large 37mm Signal Flare pistols made by International Flare Signal Co., but this is a much smaller "M2" model, with a frame and 2 1 4" "barrel" made entirely of brass. Instead of having a breech that opens, the flare on these are muzzle loaded, with the rim of the casing held in place by a brass latch on the left side of the pistol.
