This is a fantastic unissued example of a WWII Issue Paratrooper Jump Case for the Carbine, Cal . 30, M1A1, which was a paratrooper version with a folding stock. Referred to variously as the Scabbard, M1A1, Jump Case, or Paratrooper holster, it was designed to carry and protect the M1 M1A1 folding stock carbine during a parachute jump. The bags were padded with felt on the leg side, so the bag had to be carried flap
