Silene catesbyi NOT OUTSIDE NC Shortia In gardens(aka: Silene polypetala) We are pleased to offer another of the wonderful and easy to grow (but US endangered) wildflowers, Silene catesbyi. These offerings were cutting grown from a plant in Gadsden County in the Florida Panhandle. In the wild, it is usually found on north facing moist slopes in neutral to slightly alkaline soils, where it spreads by short stolons. From late March through May, the small rock garden sized clumps are topped with
