Allegorical cases made from hallmarked silver are extremely rare. This piece is superb. As you can see the scene shows a woman offering a weary man something to drink. The engraving is very fine & the silversmith has rendered the clothes in such a way that they feel like they have the texture of garments. The area appears not to be dessert but quite lush with
