This is a lovely "Pennsylvania" flintlock long rifle, often referred to as a "Kentucky Rifle". The design developed in Pennsylvania, and then spread down the Ohio River Valley to Kentucky, where it was very popular. This example is typical of those made in Lehigh County, PA, the area surrounding Allentown. It features all brass mountings on a thin profile walnut stock. The rifle features a 44 3 4 inch long octagonal
