Two Official Wartime Press Photos Of Gau Leader & Reich Governor Josef Bürckel With Goebbels Auction Shorncliffe on June 12thTwo pictures, measuring 243x180mm, extremely fine condition with minor creases and scuffing. They show Gau Leader Josef Brckel, one with Joseph Goebbels. The reverse identifies the owner as picture department of the central editorial staff Bavarian Ostmark in Bayreuth. Footnote: Josef Brckel (18951944) was a veteran of the First War. He joined the NSDAP in 1921 (membership no. 33,979). He became a Gau Leader in the Rhineland Palatinate region in 1926.
