Constructed of silvered bronze with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, around a black enameled bullseye target, bearing a central enameled HJ overlying crossed rifles, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code M1 63 for Steinhauer & Lck, Ldenscheid, measuring, 25 mm in diameter, with loss of finish and some chipping of the enamels
