Day of the Dead Catrina Ceramic Sculpture - Flirtatious Catrina Drop Palo blanco woodWorking in ceramic, artisan Rita Sandoval creates this marvelous catrina sculpture. The skeletal figurine is beautifully clad in a red and yellow gown and matching hat; the slit in her skirt flirtatiously reveals her leg. The original 'La Calavera Catrina' was a zinc etching created by the artist Jos Guadalupe Posada in Mexico around 1910. Posada created the character, a female skeleton with an elegant hat, as a satirical portrait of Mexican natives
