Varnay, Astrid - Signed Photograph in Die Walkure Impresarios Silk program for a galaAmerican soprano of Swedish Hungarian descent (1918 2006), who was a leading interpreter of the Heroic soprano roles of Wagner and Strauss in the 1940s and 1950s and later became a celebrated interpreter of character mezzo parts. Signed photograph, shown as Brunnhilde in Wagner's Die Walkure, inscribed to photographer Mark Hagmann, whose blind stamp is below. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in very good condition.
