Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central raised monogram of Grand Duke Adolph Friedrich VI, within a laurel wreath, the six oclock arm with a date of 1914, the reverse with a central raised inscription of TAPFER UND
