The lid is embellished with a gilded diamond cut star design on a turquoise background. The makers gilded and lacquered this mirror compact and so it will not tarnish or need to be cleaned. The original felt pouch and sifter are included, as is an immaculate powder puff. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a good and accurate
