One of the units with an absolutely profound combat record during WWII was that of the 82nd Airborne Divisions 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment. The 509th is famous for engaging in five combat jumps during WWII; Two during Operation Torch (The Invasion of North Africa, 1942), Tunisia (El Djem Bridge, 1942, Operation Avalanche (Invasion of Italy, 1943) and finally the Invasion of Southern France (Operation Dragoon,
