A Gebirgs-Pionier-Bataillon 54 Anti-Partisan Campaign Commemorative Medal consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 23 mm (w) x 62(Gebirgs Pionier Erinnerungsabzeichen). Constructed of a silvered zink alloy, topped by an integral loop for suspension, the obverse bearing two raised edelweiss topped by a pennant, circumscribed by inscriptions of GEB. PI. BTL. 54 and UNBANDIG BEINAND!, the reverse bearing a central raised map of the Balkan peninsula, Turkey, and souther Ukraine, with arrows charting the movement of Gebirgs Pionier Bataillon 54 from the Eastern Front (Kuban
