Huge Tibetan Gau Box with Coral and Turquoise frienship_ring Length of Leather Necklace: 17"A very large tibetan or nepali brass and copper gau box, done with repousse work. This gau is openable and closes securely. The backside depicts a double dorje with ying and yang in the center. The frontside shows the double fish and Chippu. This prayer box is used to hold and carry powerful amuletic objects. As used in Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and Mongolia, the Gau box usually contains a written prayer or a sacred yantra diagram such as the kalachakra.
