These are extremely rare, and this is the only example we have ever seen! While there are no exact numbers, it is believed that only around FIVE HUNDRED were produced with C. D. Schubarth marked lock plates. The story of Casper Daniel Schubarth begins in Norway, where he was born in 1839, and then was apparently apprenticed to a local gunsmith. He then emigrated to the United States in 1850, settled in Massachusetts,
