This is a wonderful example of the classic Japanese Type 90 Tetsubo ( "steel cap") army helmet, also colloquially called the tetsukabuto ( "steel helmet") by Japanese troops. This example is in rough shape, missing its front star and liner, but retaining its chinstrap. The helmets exterior retains some of its original paint toward the brim but shows heavy oxidation.
