Constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing raised and crossed swords, overlaying a plane in mid flight, situated above a date of 1942, and topped by an inscription of DEMJANSK, in turn below a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika and flanked by log pillboxes, retaining all four side clips, unmarked, measuring 50. 62 mm (w) x 92. 12 mm (h), weighing 11. 9 grams, missing
