Used with the French Model 24/29 Light Machine Gun these were actually pressed into use by the Germans in WW2 after the fall of France in 1940

and belt with dummy ammunition and starter tab are a perfect complement to a display MG 34 or MG 42

which carried a needle bayonet

Complete with the burner and wick, it retains all four glass panes and the original makers metal plaque embossed: CHRISTOPHER COLLINS LTD., BIRMINGHAM. MANUFACTURERS 1916 Steel outer of the lantern is pitted from exposure but totally original in the black finish
