This is the Purple Heart medal grouping of Private Morris Louis Leschkowitz, Company L, 316th Infantry Regiment, 79th Division, who was severely wounded in action on September 28th, 1918 during the Meuse Argonne Offensive. Leschkowitz was born in Galicia, Austria, in 1889, immigrating to the U. S. at a young age. From his Jewish Servicemans Questionnaire, we can see that he received a severe gunshot wound to the left
