Footnote: Karl Bhmer was born 17 August 1912 in Andernach, Germany. He served with the 263rd Tank Destroyer Unit, attached to the 263rd Infantry Division which, when he enlisted, was assigned to occupation duty in Bordeaux, France. In May 1941,
