This is a very nice original M1938 Beaded Luftschutz Gladiator German helmet

Well the Army experimented with both scope and night sights but these only made it into the field on a very limited basis

but part of the DZ was covered by pre-registered German machinegun and mortar fire that inflicted heavy casualties before many troops could get out of their chutes

The rear of the lighter shows an engraved Iron Cross with 1941 in its center
