Italy, Republic. An Order of Savoy, Commander, c.1950 Hold machine woven in silvery threads(Ordine Militare di Savoia). Instituted 1815 by King Victor Emmanuel I. Type III. In silver gilt, a white enamel cross with green enamel segments in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featuring the initials RI, encircled by the inscription AL MERITO MILITARE, the reverse medallion features crossed swords with the dates 1855 1947 surmounted by a green enamelled wreath, measures 52. 90 mm (w) x 86. 5 mm (h inclusive of wreath suspension), light gilt
