This is a very nice WWII issue Griswold bag, also called a Cover Jump, in heavy OD Green #3 canvas. The bag was designed to carry an M1 Garand rifle disassembled into three sections: barrel, stock, and trigger group. The bags were also used to carry the M1 Carbine, Thompson SMG, or M3 Grease gun.
