Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in position, with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, stamped with a mark of A (possibly indicative of a connection to F. W. Assmann & Shne, Ldenscheid),
