Constructed of bronzed copper, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with 1870 clasp indicating issue for Franco Prussian War service, the obverse bearing a raised Baden griffin clutching a sword and shield bearing the Grand Duchys coat of arms, topped by an inscription of FR BADENS EHRE (FOR BADENS HONOUR), the reverse bearing a wreathed
