This is a really early Walnut stocked brass barrel British Naval Blunderbuss, made by JOSEPH FARMER, worked from 1718 until 1762. A recognized Contractor to the Crown, FARMER supplied 46" and 42" Brown Bess Muskets and Dragoon pistols, many of which were used in the American Revolutionary War. This blunderbuss is 31" in overall length, with a 15 1 2" swamped barrel bearing British Proof marks. It is signed I. FARMER 1744
